Conservation District 2020 Video Award Winners

On Friday February 12, Building for Tomorrow hosted the first annual Conservation District Video Awards presentation to recognize excellence in district-produced content in 2020.

Thirty two submissions were received and scored by a panel of judges on the basis of technical production value, presentation, and overall messaging.  Awards were presented to the highest-scoring videos in each of three categories, plus a special award for the best video produced on a $0 budget.

 

PSA/Homeowner Category Winner:

How Big is an Acre? – Crawford CCD

Runners-up:

Earth Day – Elk CCD 

Beneficial Weeds – Potter CCD

 

K-12 Educational Caetgory Winner:

Virtual tour of the Tannersville Bog – Monroe CCD

Runners-up:

Macroinvertebrate Exploration – Wayne CCD/Pike Wayne Partnership

Bats – Wyoming CCD

 

Special Award Winner:

What in the World is a Wetland? – Crawford CCD

 

General Category Winner:

2020 Conservation Farmer of the Year: The Frye Family – Westmoreland CD

Runners-up:

Sedimentation: Pennsylvania’s Number One Water Pollutant – Beaver CCD

Tulpehocken Creek –  Berks CCD

Wood Chip Barnyard – Bradford CCD
